I found this great site called Alice and Camilla.....there is an ongoing monthly Dress Up challenge and the dresses are all so wonderful. I am starting late in July but plan to try and do one a week for a while to catch up. This was FUN! I had so many ideas about what I wanted to do but when I saw the pack of..yes, you guessed it, TEAL napkins, that was it. I really did consider peach and purple but teal is just always my favorite. Maybe I'll do peach next week.....
Update....Steve walked in my studio, saw the dress and said "You sure do use that color a lot..it must be your favorite" Well yeah! I do use green and teal very often. I also love glitter and shiny too so I think this qualifies for my Mixed Media Monday favorite things piece as well. Thanks Cindy for the idea to use this as my entry there as well. Her's is so lovely.
Anyway go take a peek at both sites. They are both wonderful !

I've never seen a napkin look so good! It is just so beautiful - and one of my favorite colors too, Kristin xo
It's beautiful, Nan (from another teal fan!).
You go girl!! Totally fab first dress!! I can totally understand your colour choice being a bit of a blue/green fan myself!
The little skirt is inspired, I love the way you've folded the napkin and attached it to the bodice.
I can't wait to see what you do in 'catch-up'!
Margaret
Such a lovely dress, wonderful work.
Very cool Nan! That's such a lovely blog, isn't it? And you have created the sweetest dress!
I love Teal too.. from the darkest shade to the lightest.. and i think I use it way more than i use any other colour. AND... i love pretty dresses.. LOL.. I am finding that a lot of people are showing favourite things that are some of mine too.
nice job. As I said to the lovely Cindy.. shame you cant wave a wand and make it real..
Gorgeous napkin dress, Nan. I love that color too. I also love anything that shines.
These are currently my favorite colors too, Nan, as you can see by all the art I've created lately in these shades Playing "Dress UP" was my favorite childhood game too, so I especially love yor entry this week. It's beautiful and so original!
That dress is lovely - and I really love those colours too..although purple will always win for me - how about purple and teal ? Esther xx
those napkins are perfect for this and the way you made the back of the napkin show. very beautiful dress.
Hi Nan! your dress is so beautiful! teal is my favorite colour.
Oh this is wonderful Nan...gorgeous colors...one of my friends is also participating in the dress ups and I have been loving seeing the creations...
Jenny
Thats a napkin? What a beautiful piece of art you've created with it!
Very elegant
What a super first dress. I am sure it won't take long to catch up, especially if you make one each week. I really love the idea of the napkins for the dress. The skirt is so clever and looks like you could dance the night away. You sure knew how to name it.
I must check out your blog. I'm in a color swap and I'm having trouble identifying teal. Since it seems to be one of your favorite colors, maybe it will help me better identify it. Even an internet search isn't sure what color teal is, calling it a mix of blue and green.
Wow, Nan, this is GORGEOUS! Diane
Oh la la - what a pretty dress! Great blog
Oh this is fabulous!!!! Looks so summery and cool! Marva
Lovely. The perfect dress for a perfect summer eve's dance!
