Compendium Of Curiosities 5 Distress Embossing

This is my tag from the lesson of the week at StudioL3 Compendium Of Curiosities challenge. I used Antique Linen embossing powder, Shabby Shutters, Bundled Sage and Faded Jeans. I couldn't resist embossing the number with some Broken China. I did 2 of these first because I can't seem to get much of the powder to release. Anyone else find that happening?

I had intended just to do technique tags and make a booklet at the end of the challenge but I love some of the beautiful work I'm seeing and may have to branch out ! Thanks for looking...can't wait to see everyone's projects!

Wow, Nan, this is stunning! You did an fantastic job with that Distress Powder. I love how you embellished the metal number, and your color choices are just perfect.

I do sometimes have a hard time getting the powder to release, and someone just suggested to give the container a really good shake before you use it, because the "release crystals" tend to settle at the bottom of the jar. I'm going to go add that to the blog post!

Thank you so much for sharing this gorgeous hunk of art at the fifth Compendium Challenge!

Nan, I think this is beautiful. I seldom use distress powder and really don't do much grungy stuff. But it looks like you've nailed the technique.

Fab tag, love the idea of making a book of them but can see why you might be tempted to try other things as well. The powders look good and released to me very effective. xx Zoe

I love your tag, great colour combination. I too did not have good success with the release crystals, maybe I need to try it again.

Your tag turned out fantastic! I think I had too much powder release and I did actually shake it up first. Love the colors you chose!
