Altered Book Come Into My Garden

The theme for Saturday's Workout is altered books. I've been playing in mine this week and was so pleased to see this was todays challenge. I put my first page up on Monday but here's the rest of the 4 page spread......Had so much fun doing this. Thanks for looking!

Neither Here Nor There

The most beautiful color green background was the inspiration from Art Creations Friday. I had to do it even though I am late! My MIL says I would wear a barrel if it were green and she's probably right!

Feathered Friends

This is my piece for Mixed Media Monday's Feathered Friends challenge. I hope you all will forgive me for submitting a piece I did earlier. I really enjoy doing the challenges as they come up but the holiday weekend has me running to and fro for some reason. Those of you who know me may remember that I lost my whole blog earlier this year..... I wrote about it in my first post when I started from scratch in February of this year. Anyway I made this piece in November and submitted it somewhere but can't remember where and can't look back to see where. Since it was one of my favorites to make (feather's everywhere!) I thought I would share it. My apologies if you've seen it. Hopefully I will be back to my daily art very soon! Tomorrow ??? Hope you all are having fun creating!

My Little Garden Sprite

This is my entry for Gothic Arches this week. The theme was garden sprite. I was thinking about what I wanted to do with this when I saw my little furball Yoshi on the screen porch looking out at our bluebird house and she was squeaking. So she's my little muse. A fuzzy garden sprite who loves to watch the birds.....she never goes after them...just squeaks along with the babies. Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

A Pansy Moo

Well this is a new type of art for me.....a moo for Make a Moo or Two 's happy theme! I've heard of them and seen them on other artists blogs but never realized the actual size until I got out my ruler and tried to convert cm's to inches.....LOL! I am number challenged anyway as I've explained so I kept looking for my cm ruler because all mine said mm.....now you all who already get this go ahead and laugh at me. I can take it! Anyway here's Pansy trying to be all serious while getting her photo taken. I used a real dried pansy and will tell you that you don't breathe on it once it is in place because they are so delicate! I put a coat of matte modge podge over it and it's done....I will be doing more of these as I love the size! Thanks for looking!

TGIF Musical Pin Up Girl

The challenge on Thank God It's Friday is a pin up girl......I had no striped trousers for last weeks theme so searched my stash til I found this pretty little pin up girl....no idea where she came from.

Theme Thursday Silly Numbers

Boy.... do I get into trouble with numbers sometimes, either forgetting them, mixing them up or spending too much on fun, very necessary art stuff so the number theme at Theme Thursday was an good one for me plus I got to break in my new Stampers Anonymous number stamp ! Yikes, it's 4 am again but I am still not posting this early. You guys are so fast and so good! It gets the creative blood going though and that's a good thing!

Wednesday Stamper Altered Book

This is for the Wednesday Stamper theme of mixed media. This is a page in my altered book that I finished up last night. I hope it counts as mixed media. I just love the stamps I used on this. But I love most of my stamps.....sigh...need a whole separate area outside my art room for them.

Crazy Amigo She Wasn't Always Nice

This is my piece for Crazy Amigo 2" x 4" challenge today. I've never done anything in that size. What an excellent challenge!

A person I respect said "I'm not always a nice person but I always try to be a good person"... I've always remembered that! So can you tell I'm feeling grouchy today when you look at this? Oh well... anyway the background is a mixed media piece I took apart from an older challenge. Know how you just can't get it right sometimes? I always know when I like something or when it's done. So I disassembled another piece...which is fun by the way when you are feeling grouchy...and cut the background into 2" x4" squares and did my collage on top of that. Now I like it..LOL! Seriously I've only deconstructed 2 pieces of recent work...I know what you're saying L ! Rainy and cold and in the 50's here. It was 90 just last week...how bizarre! I suspect Mother Nature is not happy with us right now!

Big Girl Chair Inchie

My entry for Small World Of Inchies & Twinchies......I haven't done one of these since I did a demonstration at our Altered Art group in the fall and I forgot how little they are. I know my eyes could not possibly be worse since then :) ......

Gothic Arches Peace Near The Sea

The theme of Gothic Arches this week was Peace. I had to think beyond my instant image in my mind of a peace symbol....being a child of the sixties and seventies.... There is nothing that makes me feel more peaceful than being by the water listening to waves. I MISS the beach!
I am having fun doing some challenges but I can't seem to do them very fast...it's 4 pm here on Sunday and I am a straggler! By the time I get my pieces posted there are so many done. I'm going to have to pick up the speed!

Theme Thursday Glass Menagerie Man

I have been enjoying doing some of the daily challenges.....it really pushes me to do something I like or has some meaning for me in one day...The theme for Theme Thursday was masculine so it was REALLY hard for me today! I like to make pretty things 90% of the time. Anyway here is my entry. It is on an old book cover with some chalk...stamping and I cannot remember where I got the photo but will gladly give credit if someone knows. Hope you are having fun creating!

The Hands That Give You Roses

Ooh Laa Laa Miss La Rose !

This is a piece I did for the Mind Wide Open challenge this month......I am trying to use all leftover/thrift store items in my work for a while. I stole my husbands grahm cracker box for the chipboard bodice...(he doesn't even ask anymore..LOL! ) and found some neglected camisoles at our local thrift for the skirt and the flower is one I made from scraps in a session with Gayle and Lucy one night.....paper flying everywhere......anyway lots of fun!

The title was inspired by my little friend Emma, Lucy's daughter......we were trying on hats and this was our posing phrase....now she may correct me and tell me I have mispronounced Miss La Rose's name and if that happens you can be sure I will edit :) ........

Go visit the The Next Step if you get a chance....it's Lucy and Gayle's great new technique blog they started with Bethany..... who has a beautiful technique up this month by the way.
