Three Muses Doors

Here is my piece for the door challenge at Three Muses. I've always been fascinated by doors, especially arched "hobbit" doors like this. One day I'll coax my talented but very busy woodworker husband to make one for my studio.
I did a photo transfer method that I learned this week from Lucy who learned it from Audrey. It was lots of fun and the most successful transfers I've ever been able to do. Thanks you both for sharing your technique! I learn a lot from Lucy...she may be my muse!
I cut out the vines from dictionary pages with my dusty Sizzix. The bee is from Basic Greys Wisteria stamp set..I love this set! Lots of gel medium and other fun stuff. I am loving this site... the muses are doing a wonderful job and bringing in all kinds of talent !

Nan, Your keeper of the key is all a buzz busy doing his duty. What a fun and clever piece. Love your transfer, they are so fun to do!

Oh, Nan, I hope everyone views this in close-up so they don't miss the Morrison quote, and the vine details (compliments of your magic Sissix, or whatever you called them). I'm so glad you're enjoying our new blog. We are so excited to be attracting such talented artists! (By the way, did you ever do clear contact paper transfers?)

The first thing I noticed is the way you have set the door into the picture in a way that makes it look three dimensional and so real. I love the mystery and the suggestion of hobbits too! I hope everyone takes a minute to enlarge it so as not to miss any of the fine detail. (Love the vine).

Lovely work, Nan! You really have me intrigued about this photo transfer method! Can you direct me to the instructions? Is that some kind of digital mask that is around the door?
